Steve McQueen, who starred as a police detective in the 1968 film Bullitt, was also a legitimate car racer. His chase scene jumping the steep slopes of San Francisco in his 1968 Ford Mustang GT in pursuit of a villain in the Dodge Charger is a film classic. This is why McQueen's plea to buy this car back in 1977 made us all cheer for him. Unfortunately the owner wouldn't sell the car. Now, in 2020, the owner did sell the iconic car, at a record price, at auction for $3.74 million. McQueen who died of cancer in 1980 may be rolling over in his grave today.
Good news is you can buy the print of the car for much, much less!
