To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Blue, Joni Mitchell looks back on her legendary life and career with the summer release of The Reprise Albums (1968-1971). The latest installment in her Archives series, this reissue retrospects and reimagines the first four albums that gave unwitting rise to what is widely revered as her most seminal masterwork a half-century onward. With a myriad of viable materials to pull from — both rare and renowned —, it is still unclear what will make the final cut but it’s no secret that hardcore fans will be waiting with bated breath. In anticipation, Morrison Hotel Gallery presents a special collection of classic imagery which chronicles Mitchell’s formative early years.
