Rock and roll dominated popular music in the mid 1950s and late 1950s. Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis. Jazz and blues was just as popular with the music of Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker.
