With one finger pressed to the pulse of the music world and another on her camera’s shutter-release, famed photographer Lynn Goldsmith is a rock and roll staple whose instinctive ability to capture iconic moments as they happen have landed her within the pages of magazines such as Rolling Stone and Time, on album covers like Patti Smith’s Easter and in close contact with the likes of David Bowie. Whether it be in reference to her poignantly bold images of the “Starman” in concert and costume, behind-the-scenes photographs of The Man Who Fell To Earth or a particularly intriguing charade in 1995 involving an Andy Warhol disguise, it may be said that no one had a way of capturing the icon in action quite like Goldsmith.
