Both were educated at the prestigious Westminster Boys School in London where they met and became the most successful duo of the 60s, with a string of massive hits including, “World With Out Love, True Love Ways, To Know You Is To Love You.”
The differences in their personalities were like chalk and cheese. Gordon was a good-looking dashing cavalier dressed in frilly shirts with long hair, girls all over the place and fast cars. He had a grand in his back pocket for after show card games at the hotel and was the first person I’d ever heard order a glass of tonic with a quadruple gin chaser. While Gordon was downing pint after pint of beer, Peter sipped white wine, accompanied by cheese and crackers. After the duo split in the late 60s, Peter went to Los Angeles where he became a multi – million dollar record producer while Gordon slipped into obscurity.
Recently Peter retired as a record producer and to his credit, reunited with Gordon for a nostalgic US Tour. They still sound as good as they did in the 60s.
