Moody Blues, The Odeon Theatre, Stockton on Tees, England, January 23, 1965
Form a group, get a recording contract with Decca, appear on TV’s Ready Steady Go, record a number one hit song, "Go Now.” That’s all there is to it! Denny Laine, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, Graeme Edge and Clint Warwick were the original Moody Blues. Formed in Birmingham they hoped to get sponsorship from a brewery called M&B (Mitchell & Butler’s) so they used the brewery’s initials for the group’s name. All they got from the brewery was a couple of pints!
