Lake Placid, New York, February 22nd, 1980.The Olympic US hockey team celebrates Michael Ritz, Rizzo Eruzione’s game-winning goal to beat the U.S.S.R in the 1980 Olympic Men’s Hockey Semi-Final. The game was famously dubbed “The Miracle on Ice” after the US upset the heavily favored Soviet team in Lake Placid, NY.
